In doing a lot of construction around New Zealand I can honestly say that Alexander Construction have been the best contractor I have dealt with. After a stint as a labourer in Napier, Mark joined Fletcher Development and Construction in Palmerston North as a Quantity Surveyor cadet. With Fletcher’s backing he went on to complete a Building Science degree at Victoria University during the ’87 stock market crash. This was followed by a period of self-employment in Wellington that lead to a senior management role with Mainzeal that brought him back to Napier. The Directors of Alexander Construction approached Mark in 1998 to take over the helm. In 2003 Mark became the Managing Director and majority Shareholder. Driven to develop the team to be consistently awesome, he is proud of the achievements the Company has made since its small beginnings and enjoys the strong culture created from a consistent, committed workforce and the loyalty inherent in traditional building companies.
