Quantity Surveyor

Role description:
The main role is financial servicing of construction contracts.  You will be monitoring material expenditure against budget and/or quantity against original measure and pricing and tracking variations.  Monthly progress claims and final accounts will also be part of the role.  Additionally, you will provide assistance to the Company Estimator for tendering when required, procuring and attending to the services of subcontractors, including pre-acceptance meetings when appropriate.

Responsibilities will include:
Authorising subcontract, supplier payments and maintaining financial records
Managing subcontractors as and when necessary
Tracking changes to the design/scope of the construction work
Recording cost variances, risks and the like
Processing debtors/client invoicing for projects when applicable
Assisting with the setting of man-hour targets for the Foremen

This role will suit someone with the following background/experience/qualities:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying
3+ years’ experience
Pre and post contract understanding and hands-on practice
Able to accurately complete reviews on projects, contracts, and other tenders
Ability to complete accurate risk assessments for projects/contracts
Experience in settlement of progress/final claims of clients/sub-contractors
Comprehensive knowledge of cost management
